‘The Idol’ premiere: Lily Rose Depp has weekend sex

This story contains spoilers from the series premiere of “The Idol,” now streaming on Max.

This is the show everyone is waiting for. HBO’s “The Idol,” starring Lily-Rose Depp and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, premiered Sunday night and — to no one’s surprise — was full of candid moments.

The series has been mired in controversy following reshoots and reports of toxic behavior by creator Sam Levinson, but the cast has stood by the director.

“I’ve never felt more valued in a creative space, my input and ideas,” Rose-Depp shared in a March statement following the allegations.

“Working with Sam is a true collaboration in every way – it matters to him, more than anything, not only what his artists think of the work, but how we feel doing it. He Hires people whose work he respects and has always created an environment in which I feel seen, heard and appreciated.

Depp plays pop star Jocelyn, who is filming a music video when the pilot begins. She’s been working on a comeback after opting to cancel her tour following the death of her mother – and may be on the verge of a breakdown.

It’s nothing to worry about, though, because as one of her handlers put it, “mental illness is sexy.” Apparently, that’s why she’s wearing a hospital bracelet for her cover art. (Even comparing it to Simone Biles is a strange comparison, as she, too, has made her mental health a priority.)

During the shoot, she tells the photographer that she wants to go completely topless but cannot because of her rider.

Her manager (Hank Azaria) finds a solution by locking the intimacy coordinator in the bathroom and paying an employee $5,000 to keep the door locked.

While showing confidence in his team, it is clear that he struggled during filming; But it’s a pride to see the team comparing her to Britney Spears.

Meanwhile, everyone learns that a photo of her has been leaked online – a selfie she took with her face covered in bodily fluids.

Upon learning of this, she is upset but notes that it could be worse and goes to a club to relax. There, she meets club owner Tedros (Tesfaye) – a modern cult leader, with whom she has a hallway hookup. After going home, she masturbates while strangling herself.

The next day, she tells her best friend and assistant Leia (Rachel Sennott) exactly what she told Tedros – she doesn’t like his new music and is really embarrassed by it.

She also says that she is interested in Tedros, but Leia is disappointed and says that he is “rapey”. Jocelyn replied, “I like that about him.”

With that, she invites him over and tells him that she is unhappy with how the album is turning out. In her studio, she recites her upcoming song to him, which he feels is superficial.

He volunteers to help her, saying – while rubbing an ice cube on her leg – that he needs to “sing it like you know how to fuck.”

He then tells her to trust him; Says she does not, but allows him to take off his robe and wrap it completely around his head.

To secure it, he uses the belt and wraps it around her neck, and she begins to choke. He tells her not to be scared as he takes out a knife, slitting a hole in her mouth so she can finally breathe. With this he says, ‘Now you can sing.’
